8/3/2016:   Believe it or not, she's running yet again! Ego, anyone? She has run for:

She's running this time for the State Senate D17 seat, against Ritch Workman and others. As of this date she is Unopposed in the dumboRAT side of the race, so she will not even have to be on the Primary Ballot on Aug. 20th (strategic filing, anyone?). However, in the General Election in November she will have to face the winner of the Republican side of the Primary race, whoever that shall be. Her financiers so far this time are: That's it as of this date that the State of Florida has listed. Stay tuned for more, or you can check the State's tiddlywinks page yourself. Just click on the "Campaign Finance Activity" button and on the next page click on the "Submit Query Now" button and the whole list will be available on the resulting page.

Can you imagine a tiddlywinks State Senator?

"They have put their trust in other and me people"
Every vote would be an adventure in stupidity of she won.

NOTE FROM PSJHISTORY.COM Editor:    As you can see this page is originally from ConservativePSJ.US. I use it with permission of the author and with her blessings. I have not changed the colors and all of that because leaving it as it is saves me some work and because it honors the person who did all the work in the first place. So that's why I left it almost as was. I added some names that were not on the list but that she had bought from the Supervisor of Elections website. It's all public record and anyone can go buy the candidate of their choice's (or their opposition's) records. All you have to do is pay for printing. So the ConservativePSJ.US author just gave them to me to use and here it all is. In all its "living gory" [sic]. This may tell you something about your neighbor.

I must admit to some surprise when I heard that Amy Tidd (no longer available), late of the PSJ Incorporation's PSJ4T (until they were soundly defeated and she ran with her tail between her legs to Rockledge), was already registered with the Supervisor of Elections office as a Democrat candidate for County Commission District 4. Why was I surprised? After her quick scamper for cover in November of 2002, I figured one resounding loss was going to be enough for her. Two? Well, I honestly didn't think she'd be up for that.

But, I suppose her degree in Political Science has well-equipped her to be a County Commissioner. After all, she did put together a whole city budget for the proposed City of Port St. John. Yes, it was only -- how many pages for a whole city? -- oh, yes: four. When this faux pas was exposed, the "budget" quickly became a "budget summary".

While it was a "budget" it was the only budget in all of my budget surveys that was that tiny: most were huge things taking pages of paper to print and that listed things like "Non-Departmental" expenditures of $720,000 for similarly sized Aventura; but Amy Tidd's "budget" (I called it a "bodge-it") didn't have that expenditure. The 2001-2002 budget for the city of Fort Walton Beach (another similarly sized city) had $233,570 budgeted for overtime for employees; Amy Tidd's bodge-it: Zero dollars.

Ms. Tidd's bodge-it -- even when it became a "bodge-it summary" -- listed things like "postage" ($2,000), but not things like paying the City Council, even though the PSJ City Charter said, "Page 7 of 35, Section (6) "COMPENSATION AND EXPENSES.-- (a) Compensation.-- The council members and mayor shall receive compensation as established by ordinance. Such compensation shall not take effect until the date of commencement of the terms of council members elected at the next regularly scheduled election that follows the adoption of said ordinance by at least six months." That's shall folks, not "if it's listed in Ms. Tidd's bodge-it. She listed "Books and Subscriptions" with a bodge-ited amount of $100, but not "Personal Services" (the 2001-2002 Fort Walton Beach Budget Summary lists the total amount as $14,709,160). Ms. Tidd's bodge-it listed "Conferences and trips to Tallahassee" but not a "Planning Consultant": even though she admitted at a public meeting at the Port St. John Community Center on October 10, 2002 that the City of PSJ would have to hire a planning consultant!

I have the papers, folks. I have the hardcopy. It says on page 4 "Prepared by Amy Tidd" and "Submitted by Port St John For Tomorrow 5-9-02". I have the proof.

If you are considering voting for Ms. Tidd, please consider this information. If this is how well she does at budgeting for a city, what better can we expect out of her budgeting for an entire County? And, would you want to live in the County she did the budget for? I would not!

One more little thing. Ms. Tidd alleges that she went to the City of Rockledge and studied their budget and she did the same for the City of Cocoa. On October 10, 2002, she alleged that her study of the City of Cocoa's budget revealed an $11,000,000.00 (yes, eleven million dollars) discrepency and that the City of Cocoa's budget didn't balance. A few weeks later, she changed that number to $17 million dollars. Question: Was she alleging that the City of Cocoa's budget was that wrong, or just admitting how poorly she does math?

So, I do this to protect the citizens of District 4; as well as the citizens in the rest of the County. I can't imagine any of them wanting Ms. Tidd as their representative, but one can never tell what people will believe. If you wish to have proof of anything I say here, contact me and I will provide it.

Note: Ms. Tidd officially filed on August 8, 2005 with the Supervisor of Elections office to run for District 4 County Commissioner. Her official Treasurer is Maureen Parent, of Titusville: not of D4. Ms. Tidd names herself as her Deputy Treasurer.

Note:All district numbers based on the Supervisor of Elections Precinct Map of Brevard County Florida, 2004. If there's an error, talk to him.

  • Amy Tidd of Rockledge (D4) started the account with $650 in cash and checks for the third quarter (Q3) on October ?, 2005 (the date was changed by the Supervisor of Elections office person and I can't read through the scribble out) at 12:48 p.m.

Congratulations! Ms Tidd finally got some support from within her own district! Isn't that a shocker? However, of the 46 donors to her campaign so far (besides herself), only 19.5% are in her district. If these numbers run true during the elections, she will only have 20% of the vote and I think that's a losing number. Sounds good to me.

I may also have a few other things to post here. So keep watching!

The fact remains that, in my opinion, this candidate would be a detriment to the Commission. Every Commissioner has to understand at least the basics of a budget. Considering the bodge-it Ms. Tidd put together for the Port St. John For Tomorrow presentation to the public with her name on it, do you really think Ms. Tidd has demonstrated a sound understanding of budgeting?

Remember, if elected, she won't be voting for things strictly and exclusively in District 4. Every vote she participates in will be a vote that will effect what happens to you; to your taxes; to your future and your children's futures. Beware of this candidate. Can someone this knowledgable in financial matters be good for you and yours?

Another interesting little tidbit -- or is that a Tiddbit? -- is that as recently as 2000, Ms. Tidd was a registered Republican. Think she jumped ship to run as a Democrat because there were no Democratic candidates at the time? Or did she find her true colors earlier and change parties to be more in tune with her true self? Whichever, I find that tidbit very interesting.

Watch for next quarter's posting as soon as I can get it.
